College Advising and Placement

Applying to college can be overwhelming. My job is to help you find the right colleges and universities that meet your child’s needs and interests. I will guide your family through each step, helping your child to put his or her best foot forward. Having been part of an admissions team, I understand what schools are looking for. Our individualized, thorough and informed process will help your child realize his or her dreams by finding the very best university fit.

Identifying Needs and Interests

Each student is different. Even those who share the same learning differences or interests still require a customized process, starting from the ground up. I don’t rely on generic lists, I begin by understanding the wants and needs of your child, and getting to know you all as a family.

We can help you plan college visits and prepare your child for successful college interviews.

Finding the Right Options

I have researched and worked with a wide range of schools, with varying degrees of support and services for students with learning differences. I continually update my database and maintain relationships with many academic institutions.

I carefully consider the students’ needs and interests to determine that the college is a good match.

Completing the Application

I break the application process into manageable pieces so that each part becomes less intimidating. I help students put their best foot forward and give them guidance on everything from course selection while in high school, standardized testing, college visits, interviews and much more.

Pathway to Graduation

All students occasionally stumble once enrolled. Roommates can be difficult. Certain classes are more challenging than anticipated. I often help students address both academic and social issues. The good news is that we all must overcome obstacles during our college years and that students with learning differences often excel and go on to have successful careers
