K-12 Advising & Placement

As a parent of children with learning differences, I know how you’re feeling and I know how critical it is to get help and start moving in the right direction quickly. Trained as a clinical psychologist, I have the knowledge, background and experience to understand that learning differences come in many different forms. Students with the same diagnosis may have completely different issues and often require different support.  

Understanding Your Child’s Needs

I take the time to understand your child emotionally, socially and academically. Kids learn in different ways—the key is figuring out how your child learns. I informally assess your child's current level of functioning to find the right schools, programs and professionals. I always factor in a student's interests and dreams in the process; a good placement considers the whole child.

Keeping Pace with your Child’s Development

Needs change over time. There are many reasons why families come back for a check-in or to re-evaluate. When issues arise, it can be hard for families to formulate a plan that considers all of their child’s needs and interests. We provide an informed and objective view that helps clarify options and a pathway for your child’s success and fulfillment. 

We offer the following services:

• Informal Assessments that gauge your child’s Academic, Emotional and Social needs
• Thorough Records Review and Liaising with the professionals who work with your child to fully understand your child’s situation.
• Identifying schools that would best fit your child’s needs and interests including independent day schools and boarding schools.
• Holistic planning that factors in the academic, emotional and social needs of the student.
• Replacement options for students that need to shift gears during a semester, or in between school years.
• Transition Assistance for students moving from elementary school to middle, middle school to high school, high school to college.
